One of the early successes of the all conquering Vincent O'Brien. Cottage Rake captured three consecutive Cheltenham Gold Cup's in 1948, 1949 and 1950. His career record shows twelve wins over fences, one win over hurdles and three victories on the flat. An injury put an end to him running at the highest level, but he continued to challenge for more minor contests up to his retirement approaching his fifteenth birthday.
