For regular race goers the fact that Frankie is a slightly controversial selection in the all time great jockey's list may come as something of a surprise. In Frankie's case though I don't think the bare statistics tell the whole story. The plain facts of the matter state that Frankie ahs only been champion jockey twice, has never won the Derby and has only seven classics to his name. On the other side of the coin though, if you asked punters who they most wanted on a horse that they had backed the vast majority would say Frankie without hesitation. Frankie's greatest claim to fame was the day he rode all seven winners on the card at Ascot, clocking up a 25,095-1 accumulator in the process.
To supplement his English classic wins there have also been a number of eye catching performances abroad. Most notably these have included a Breeder's Cup Turf victory aboard Daylami and a Dubai World Cup win aboard the ill fated, but appropriately named Dubai Millennuim.
